This book is so adorable, I can’t even stand it. I loved it. Easy to read, easy to follow plot, and well-developed and likable characters.
The book is written as a story-within-a-story. Basic characters who don’t seem to have any relationship come together at the end. The book ends in a satisfactory way.
I adored one of the main characters, Leo. He is kind, he is crazy, he is understanding, he is a good man. He is lonely. You fall in love with him immediately. The first story follows him and his life.
The second story follows a young girl named Alma, who lives with her mother and brother. Her father died, and she is obsessed with him. Through a series of unlikely and strange events, she find her life intertwined with Leo’s, in a very sweet and endearing way.
Another well-written fast read. It was made into a movie in 2016, but I didn’t watch it or see too much about it.
Next week’s book: Skippy Dies by Paul Murray. I LOVED THIS BOOK!! This was definitely my favorite book of the summer. Here’s a hint: Skippy dies.
